About me

Marcy Huffaker is the owner of Half-Aker Designs, a landscape design business specializing in the use of native plants.  Operating the business for over 20 years, she focuses on residential and community designs.  Marcy received her Bachelor’s Degree in Math from Washington University in St. Louis and her Master’s degree from the University of Illinois in Landscape Architecture.

Marcy believes in supporting her community with her skills and has helped create community rain gardens and given talks across the region to help others learn about the benefits of designing landscapes with native plants.

In addition to co-chairing the Baraboo Acts Coalition, Marcy’s community service includes four years on the Sauk County Board, four years on the City of Baraboo Planning and Zoning Committee, and currently helps organize the native plant sale and sustainable garden tour with Powered Up Baraboo.

Marcy and her husband Buddy live in Baraboo with their three children where they enjoy exploring Wisconsin’s amazing cultural and natural resources.
